Check out the exterior of the shooting range built for the London 2012
Olympic Games located in London’s Woolworth district. Known as the
“Olympic Shooting Venue,” the structure was designed by the likes of
Berlin's Magma Architecture.
Despite the rather block-ish appearance, the building actually comprises of three tents wherein the 10, 25 and 50 meter events are set to take place. The tents are composed of a double layer PVC membrane, supported by steel trusses. The most striking feature would be the circular protrusions called ‘nodes’, which act as ventilation points for the structures, as well as entry and exit areas. The tents will be home to the Olympics, as well as the Paralympics in September, and can easily be disassembled to move around.
